Entain Plc (LSE:ENT) trading around 558 at time of writing.

#Gold #Nasdaq It’s the Midge Season here in Argyll, where tourists are told the irritating insects don’t fly, if the wind is above 10kph. And swarms will die off, if the temperature is below 10c. The rain, of course, always stops the insects from biting. Unfortunately, none of this is true, this insect with the fastest wing speed in the world, being able to concentrate on its sole reason for existing, biting people, regardless of the weather conditions. But gullible tourists think the urban myths of wind, temperature, and rain, are true, generally until they go slightly insane chasing the next itchy bit for 48 hours.

Unfortunately, the Midge is not the worst culprit here in Argyll. The really bad one is the “Cleg” – not named after a politician with similar blood sucking ambitions. The “Cleg” needs your blood though it really wants to bite your head off. This particular local vampire insect is capable of leaving a wound which will last for years, each bite ideally needing a wire brush attached to an electric drill to have a chance of getting rid of the itch. Of course, “Clegs” are not a problem, as long as you are nowhere near water, trees, or fresh air. Thankfully, Scotland famously lacks these three elements in any great quantity, aside from the fact they are all over the place. The “Cleg” season is June to September, now impressively active with our local hospital outpatients dealing with folk daily. These are not nice insects and – hot local lore – only a couple of drops of Castor Oil seems to arrest the devastating impact, when one of the things tries to remove a limb. There are frequent reports of the things biting through tight denim jeans.  Neither Midges or Clegs tend be a problem on the sea-shore, neither fond of salt water.

As can be assumed, we seriously detest Clegs. With grand-daughters visiting this coming weekend, their plan of a canoe trip down the local river to the sea, then to paddle along the shoreline to our house, sounds like a great adventure. Except for the Cleg issue which means I shall either spend time in a wetsuit with gloves or, monitor the girls from the shore, safe in an air conditioned car. For some reason, Cleg bites don’t seem to effect children or, perhaps it’s the case the insects only go after the weaker members of the pack in a similar fashion to Lions hunting the oldest, most infirm, antelope in a herd, thus making me their target!

Unfortunately, the foregoing has something to do with the gambling people, Entain Plc. The problem we have is their share price “should not” have closed below 601p and it has managed to pull off this scenario. This makes it one of the weaker members of the herd!  From our perspective, 601p had become an “ultimate low” and share now trading in a zone where a potential bottom price is prefixed with a minus sign. Obviously, such a scenario is impossible though the UK’s newest Prime Minister may table a law with companies forcing investors to take money to buy their shares? We can hope…

Thankfully the share price boasts a Red Line, an obvious uptrend since 15 years ago in 2011 and the market appears to be adhering to this Red line. So perhaps our ultimate bottom calculation at Minus 41p isn’t yet on the table. Below 452p looks like delivering real panic for this share price, so that’s an important number to watch for as investing in running shoes would be a great bet!

However, if the market indeed has a cunning plan, the share price now needs exceed 598p as this, theoretically, has the potential to trigger recovery to an initial 764p with our secondary, if beaten, at 617p. Amazingly, this also dumps the share price in a zone where a longer term 1031p calculates as eventually possible.

Perhaps worth watching, maybe it will actually start to perform.

SUCCESS above means both FAST & SLOW targets were met. ‘CESS means just the FAST target met and probably the next time it is exceeded, movement to the SLOW target shall commence.

Our commentary is in two sections. Immediately below are today’s updated comments. If our commentary remains valid, the share can be found in the bottom section which has a RED heading. Please remember, all prices are mid-price (halfway between the Buy and Sell). When we refer to a price CLOSING above a specific level, we are viewing the point where we can regard a trend as changing. Otherwise, we are simply speculating on near term trading targets. Our website is www.trendsandtargets.com.

UPDATE. We often give an initial and a secondary price. If the initial is exceeded, we still expect it to fall back but the next time the initial is bettered, the price should continue to the secondary. The converse it true with price drops.
