Trends and Targets for 27/06/2018

Pets At Home Group (LSE:PETS) Curiosity regarding the future prospects for girls, featured in Penthouse magazine was assuaged with the formation of Pets at Home. Or so we thought… All joking aside, our two Golden Retrievers must surely contribute to the company bottom line and this brings a puzzle.

The share price has been falling, fairly remorselessly, since 2015. It would be reasonable to speculate where bottom should be found. A bottom ideally without a dogs nose jammed against it!

Currently trading around 129p, we suspect it remains on a track toward 111p and a point where we’d hope for a real bounce. Despite some recent dance steps giving the impression of 120p providing a solid foundation, we’re not entirely convinced as a, hopefully final, lunge down to 111p should serve to scare the pants off traders. A fairly serious issue exists should the price break 111p or worse, be ‘gapped’ down below such a point as it will tend move bottom to 84p. We do have two fairly important “rules” which demand a bounce around the 84p level.

We also need point out the share price is trading in a region with ultimate bottom down at 21p, requiring above BLUE at 193p to utterly nonsense such a calculation.

How can a bounce be judged to try and ascertain “bottom” is in?

The immediate situation requires the share price to trade in excess of 141p to enter a phase toward an initial 174p. If bettered, we’re able to calculate a secondary at a longer term 203p. This should comfortably exceed the 2015 downtrend and challenge prior highs, hinting at the coming formation of a glass ceiling at the 2 quid level.

Success

SUCCESS above means both FAST & SLOW targets were met. ‘CESS means just the FAST target met and probably the next time it is exceeded, movement to the SLOW target shall commence.

Our commentary is in two sections. Immediately below are today’s updated comments. If our commentary remains valid, the share can be found in the bottom section which has a RED heading. Hopefully, this will mean you no longer need to flip back through previous reports. HYPERLINKS DISABLED IN THIS VERSION

Please remember, all prices are mid-price (halfway between the Buy and Sell). When we refer to a price CLOSING above a specific level, we are viewing the point where we can regard a trend as changing. Otherwise, we are simply speculating on near term trading targets. Our website is www.trendsandtargets.com.

UPDATE. We often give an initial and a secondary price. If the initial is exceeded, we still expect it to fall back but the next time the initial is bettered, the price should continue to the secondary. The converse it true with price drops.
