#Brent #Japan For many years, despite the rapid growth of online discount retailers, Currys continued to offer something that internet-only competitors couldn’t: the opportunity to see products in person before making a purchase. Whether browsing white goods, smartphones, televisions or computers, customers could visit a Dixons, Currys or PC World store to compare models firsthand before deciding what to buy.
The traditional strategy, of course, was to inspect the product in-store before checking prices online. Amazon, eBay and countless other retailers often undercut Currys, while Google’s shopping results made it even easier to compare prices within seconds. Once you’d settled on the perfect American-style fridge freezer after seeing it in a Currys showroom, there was every chance you could find exactly the same model elsewhere for considerably less.
Occasionally, however, convenience outweighs the savings.
When our television unexpectedly gave up the ghost, we quickly realised that watching everything on a laptop screen wasn’t going to replace a 50-inch TV. Rather than spend days researching online deals, we simply headed to Currys and bought a replacement. After all, our grandchildren were due to visit, and we feared they might actually have to spend the weekend talking to us instead of immersing themselves in the latest Netflix or Amazon Prime Video series.
As it turned out, they found a third option entirely—spending most of the weekend on their phones, video-calling the same friends they see every day at school.
One pleasant surprise was discovering that Currys still stock “not-so-smart” televisions. That suited us perfectly, allowing us to continue using our trusted Roku streaming stick instead of relying on a manufacturer’s built-in smart TV platform.
Turning to the chart, there is encouraging technical news.
By moving above 163p, the Currys share price has confirmed a transition into a pattern of higher highs—a development that typically signals strengthening upward momentum. The move above this level opens the door to an initial target around 168p. If this barrier is overcome, the next objective sits at 191p, with a longer-term target of 244p should buying momentum continue.
These may not be the most ambitious price objectives, but the appearance of a confirmed higher-high pattern suggests they deserve serious consideration.
Ironically, the dominance of online retailers may no longer be quite as overwhelming as it once was. Warehouse-style retailers such as Currys have become increasingly competitive on price, reflecting years of pressure from internet rivals. In many cases, the gap between online and in-store pricing has narrowed considerably.
Our own American-style fridge freezer story ended rather unexpectedly—with a purchase from Tesco. The only drawback was discovering that the appliance was a couple of inches wider than our kitchen had anticipated.
As always, there is a downside scenario to consider. Should the share price fall below 127p, it would suggest the current positive outlook has failed. Such a move could trigger a decline towards an initial target of 93p, with a secondary objective at 75p if selling pressure intensifies. We would hope this lower level would provide meaningful support.
For now, however, the technical picture remains constructive, and we continue to favour the upside.

SUCCESS above means both FAST & SLOW targets were met. ‘CESS means just the FAST target met and probably the next time it is exceeded, movement to the SLOW target shall commence.

Please remember, all prices are mid-price (halfway between the Buy and Sell). When we refer to a price CLOSING above a specific level, we are viewing the point where we can regard a trend as changing. Otherwise, we are simply speculating on near term trading targets. Our website is www.trendsandtargets.com.
UPDATE. We often give an initial and a secondary price. If the initial is exceeded, we still expect it to fall back but the next time the initial is bettered, the price should continue to the secondary. The converse it true with price drops.
