Trends and Targets for 7/01/2019

AVON RUBBER #Gold #Nasdaq Our gloomy expectations for Friday turned to mush with dodgy (estimated, due to holidays) USA employment numbers contributing to a surprise day on the markets. Thankfully, our “FTSE for FRIDAY” gave both sides of the coin toss! Time will tell whether the surprise upward percentages stick. We doubt it.

Meanwhile, Avon Rubber appear to be receiving some unsought publicity, due to a few of their inflatable craft being filmed, abandoned on the shores of Southern England. Equally, it has been difficult to ignore their brand name also appearing in the background on TV reports as inflatables reach  Mediterranean shores! Unfortunately, despite this dubious success in product placement, Avon dumped their inflatable division to a French company some time ago…

Surprisingly, (Brexit nerves) the price of Avon shares is relatively close to some trouble, needing below 1154p to indicate the threat of coming reversals to an initial 1026p. Secondary, if broken, is hopefully a rebound bottom at 870p. If triggered, the tightest stop position for this drop looks like 1285p – something we generally forget to apply when viewing share price movements.

In the event of moves exceeding 1285p, we’re looking for recovery to an initial 1340p. If exceeded, our secondary calculates at 1476p, a point where visually there is an expectation of a stumble. Only with closure above this point will we be forced to completely re-examine the future for this share price as it becomes quite exciting.
