Italy and Formula1 produced a welcome surprise, a race which was actually entertaining. The bloke doing the Sky Sport commentary sounded, by Lap 14, that he’d self destruct by Lap 15 such was the level of excitement. Hopefully he was wearing some sort of nappy, delivering enthusiasm at levels not heard since Murray Walker. Of course, the big difference between the pair was Murray Walker had the ability to make an awful Monaco race sound interesting, whereas the Sky commentators tone always reflect the race, perfectly capable of giving a Monotone Monte Carlo report while they count the minutes until the procession is all over.
Next week, it’s Spain and another F1 race capable of producing mixed entertainment. Historically, Ferrari will provide a surprise while the team attempt to atone for their usual dismal performance in front of their home crowd. And better still, we expect friends to visit so we can indulge in Paella in honour of Spanish cuisine.
We remain about as excited as that Formula1 commentator over the possibilities for Lloyds share price!
When we previously reviewed the share, we optimistically proclaimed the share price needed to CLOSE below 108p to spoil our optimism for the future. Something extremely curious is taking place with their share price as we’ve now got a clutter of calculations, all pointing to the same price level as a target. The first set of arguments dates back to 2018, our second set dates from the start of this year, and the third series of calculations growing from price movements since our previous analysis just three weeks ago. Generally speaking, when this sort of thing occurs, it becomes pretty certain a share price is intended to reach the target level and for Lloyds Banking Group, we’re now looking at a future target of 123p. From a near term perspective, above 113p should now trigger a lift to the 123p level.
Importantly, we also need now mention closure above 123p should next trigger an interesting race to 151p.
Our converse scenario is a bit worrying, giving the potential for a forced slow down in the shares optimistic future. Below 108p now risks a visit to an initial 103p with our secondary, if broken, at a “bottom” of a less likely 100p.

SUCCESS above means both FAST & SLOW targets were met. ‘CESS means just the FAST target met and probably the next time it is exceeded, movement to the SLOW target shall commence.
Our commentary is in two sections. Immediately below are today’s updated comments. If our commentary remains valid, the share can be found in the bottom section which has a RED heading. Please remember, all prices are mid-price (halfway between the Buy and Sell). When we refer to a price CLOSING above a specific level, we are viewing the point where we can regard a trend as changing. Otherwise, we are simply speculating on near term trading targets. Our website is www.trendsandtargets.com.
UPDATE. We often give an initial and a secondary price. If the initial is exceeded, we still expect it to fall back but the next time the initial is bettered, the price should continue to the secondary. The converse it true with price drops.
