Last Friday, we enjoyed a whinge about the 10,910 point level and the fact the #FTSE has been carefully avoiding closing above such a point. This notion, obviously ridiculous, almost treats the FTSE as if it were a sentient thing but we can’t help but notice the UK market remains strangely afraid of this value, the best achieved in the last 5 sessions being closure at 10,902 points. Or, close but no coconut, as most folk would say. Only with closure above 10,910 shall we dare believe the boredom of August is about to be left behind.
It feels more probable the UK index is again fated to experience some reversals. Currently, weakness below 10,755 suggests triggering reversal to 10,721 points and hopefully a bounce. In the event such a level breaks, things are liable to become a little nasty. Our secondary target of 10,663 could easily become quite troublesome, bringing the FTSE into a zone which breaks free of the August malaise and instead threatens a longer term visit to the 10,300 level. Should this scenario trigger, the tightest stop loss level looks like a very wide 10,893 points.
But there’s always the hope the current dangerous dance steps shall prove a distraction, the FTSE only needing to sneak above 10,806 to hopefully trigger a charge to 10,912 points with our longer term secondary, if bettered, at 10,950 points. And again, we will get to play the “Will it close above 10,910 points game” this remains a strong signal we’re waiting for which shall suggest the FTSE is about to experience another leg up.
With just another week until the Grand Prix season kicks off, all we can do is “enjoy” the incessant rain here in Argyll while continuing to do battle with technology. A throwaway new HP DeskJet 2900 printer (40 quid from Amazon) has become the latest portal to hell, our grand-daughters expecting to be able to print from their phones when visiting. This wireless nightmare has consumed more time than justifiable, refusing point blank to print in colour. But on the brighter side, our website now boasts an “HTTPS” prefix and aside from locking ourselves out, the process went fairly smoothly.
Have a good weekend. We face the children infesting, yet again!

SUCCESS above means both FAST & SLOW targets were met. ‘CESS means just the FAST target met and probably the next time it is exceeded, movement to the SLOW target shall commence.

Please remember, all prices are mid-price (halfway between the Buy and Sell). When we refer to a price CLOSING above a specific level, we are viewing the point where we can regard a trend as changing. Otherwise, we are simply speculating on near term trading targets. Our website is www.trendsandtargets.com.
UPDATE. We often give an initial and a secondary price. If the initial is exceeded, we still expect it to fall back but the next time the initial is bettered, the price should continue to the secondary. The converse it true with price drops.
