DRAX (LSE:DRX #CAC40 #SP500) We’ve a soft spot for #Drax. Toward the end of 2014, we were prostituting ourselves and trying hard to get a contract from a large hedge fund. Our calculations showed the share price was heading to an initial 4 quid, maybe even 2 quid if it went wrong.
The sneering manager at the hedge fund was quite vocal in disagreement. It transpired Drax was one of his “specialist subjects” and there was absolutely no way it was going to drop. That particular hedge fund shut down, in fairness echoing the behaviour of many who vanished during 2016 & 17 in what became known as the Bonfire of The Hedge Funds.
As far as we’re aware, we still do not have contracts with any Hedge Funds…
However, if Hedge Fund folk are reading, DRAX is starting to stir with the immediate situation suggesting closure above 373p should signal the start of a recovery phase to an initial 403p. We’d suspect some stutters around such a level, given this matches a period of highs last time the 4 quid level was troubled. Essentially, a bunch of folk are almost certainly going to sell once the price returns to break even. Of greater interest for the longer term is our secondary, if 403p bettered, as 564p calculates as a worthwhile ambition.
At present, if it all intends go wrong for DRAX, the price needs break below 295p as this looks capable of triggering reversal to a trend testing 220p. Crucially, if broken, bottom looks like 164p.

SUCCESS above means both FAST & SLOW targets were met. ‘CESS means just the FAST target met and probably the next time it is exceeded, movement to the SLOW target shall commence.
Our commentary is in two sections. Immediately below are today’s updated comments. If our commentary remains valid, the share can be found in the bottom section which has a RED heading. Hopefully, this will mean you no longer need to flip back through previous reports. HYPERLINKS DISABLED IN THIS VERSION
Please remember, all prices are mid-price (halfway between the Buy and Sell). When we refer to a price CLOSING above a specific level, we are viewing the point where we can regard a trend as changing. Otherwise, we are simply speculating on near term trading targets. Our website is www.trendsandtargets.com.
UPDATE. We often give an initial and a secondary price. If the initial is exceeded, we still expect it to fall back but the next time the initial is bettered, the price should continue to the secondary. The converse it true with price drops.
