A common theme running through any reports we provide on Crude Oil has been a firm belief the product price is being manipulated. To judge from movements, it feels very like the USA and Iran must be colluding in taking turns to provoke market “crisis”, the driving force always being the start of any trend which risks returning the price of the product to sensible levels. We can be thankful repeated UK Government “initiatives” to diminish North Sea activity in their hunt for Green credentials has ensured the UK has taken a very minor role in the Straits of Hormuz, due to the price of Crude Oil currently providing very little windfall profit to the UK.
Not since UK Chancellor Gordon Brown sold the UK’s Gold Reserves at the bottom of the market, has it been so apparent the Government appears to forget it’s in position for the benefit of the country, rather than adherence to political dogma. We obviously dislike the manual control of oil prices but concede it makes sense for the USA to work in the USA’s interests. Such a common sense approach appears absent from the UK.
Price movements against Brent Crude, since April of this year, in normal circumstances would have strong indicated an imminent return for Brent back to its historically sane price level around $61. Instead, on each occasion the market felt like it was weakening, someone would fire missiles or someone would drop some bombs, waking the media up who oblige with their standard “The Sky is Falling ” headless chicken mode. It does remain the case where conventional Big Picture logic still allows for market reversals but we’ve about lost confidence this shall happen.
At present, we can calculate an issue at the $100 level. Movement above such a point risks triggering price gains to an initial 119 dollars with our secondary, if bettered, at a painful sounding 129 dollars. This secondary ambition unfortunately makes some visual sense, due to the previous market high when the Ukraine thing kicked off.
If there is to be any form of reversal, we can work out below 91 dollars could now be an issue, capable of triggering an oil drip down to an initial 75 dollars with our secondary, if broken, at $61 and a return to the median price level experienced since 2012.
This certainly creates a situation where $91 represents a reasonable Stop Loss point, if our $100 trigger is activated.

SUCCESS above means both FAST & SLOW targets were met. ‘CESS means just the FAST target met and probably the next time it is exceeded, movement to the SLOW target shall commence.

Please remember, all prices are mid-price (halfway between the Buy and Sell). When we refer to a price CLOSING above a specific level, we are viewing the point where we can regard a trend as changing. Otherwise, we are simply speculating on near term trading targets. Our website is www.trendsandtargets.com.
UPDATE. We often give an initial and a secondary price. If the initial is exceeded, we still expect it to fall back but the next time the initial is bettered, the price should continue to the secondary. The converse it true with price drops.
