News of a town in middle England (Nottingham) opting to ban Baklava seems unfair. We once had a local deli where we’d routinely buy a whole tray of the wonderful Greek honey & nuts luxury, promising to make it last a week but aware it’d be a competition between my wife, daughter, and myself as we each were serious about getting our ‘share’. A personal diagnosis of Coeliac disease unfortunately made the tray of heaven a distant memory for my digestive system, Baklava suddenly missing from our household. Neither wife nor daughter liked to visit the deli, due to always finding themselves spending a small fortune on products which made joining Weight Watchers a necessary evil.<\/span><\/p>\n

Unfortunately, the next time our local radio news broadcast covered the story, the word ‘Balaclava’ had replaced ‘Baklava’, destroying the mental image of Nottingham police greedily searching people at demonstrations in case they were carrying a Greek speciality! Knowing our local radio station, the initial miss-labelling was probably not a mistake, their sense of humour being notorious in their never ending search for plausible deniability!<\/span><\/p>\n

Bizarrely, this story brings us neatly to M&S, my wife recently visiting to buy some gluten free products and also choosing an Assorted Baklava Selection for old times sake. Usually, she praises M&S products but in this instance, declared their Baklava to be a poor comparison with the trays of the stuff we used to buy. It was one of these “once you’ve eaten the real thing” moments but the dog really enjoyed her occasional mega treat over the next few days.<\/span><\/p>\n

We’d an email about M&S as apparently an analyst somewhere has been sounding quite excited about their share price prospects. We’re not so sure confidence should be allowed for the immediate future as weakness next below 368p looks very capable of provoking reversal to an initial 360p. Our secondary, if such a level breaks, calculates down at a very probable 341p and hopefully a real bounce. If wanting to play with short positions, the tightest stop loss looks like 386p.<\/span><\/p>\n

However, there is obviously a chance the analyst promoting Marks & Spencer may have spotted something useful. Should this be the case, above 386p should exhibit some surprise potentials, allowing for a visit to an initial 422p with our longer term secondary, if exceeded, working out at 434p. This sort of thing would be extremely significant, suggesting the share price is breaking from from the hiatus which has infected the share price since the start of 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n

Perhaps M&S shall prove worth watching, though we suspect due to imminent reversal potentials.<\/span><\/p>\n
