#FTSE #WallSt The thing below is a Pipistrille bat, the name derived from the Italian word for Bat<\/b>. In other words, the most common British bat could be correctly known as a Bat Bat<\/b>. It also represents the only time I’ve had to resort to Google, just to figure out which was round an animal is pointing! The pointy ears should have given a clue. It was outside on the patio this morning, slowly moving around and scaring our Golden Retriever silly. As the sun was shining, my immediate diagnosis was it was probably thirsty, so a rag was soaked\u00a0 with water and it clambered on. The beastie did perhaps take some water and decided it would be happy spending a few hours in the shade, while I checked on it every hour or so. When it was eventually time to take our dog to her afternoon Vet appointment, the decision was made to bring the bat along. Sometimes, veterinary surgeons have weird interests in peculiar animals, some even claiming to like cats! It transpires the Vet we were scheduled to see was also the practices “Bat Nut”, the bloke delighted with the gift in a little tupperware container. His diagnosis – it had probably been in a fight or maybe flown into something, and would just need time to recover at his home. For a week or two… Happy to be rid of the monster (they are really very small), I agreed to collect it when\/if recovery happens and release into our garden, familiar territory.<\/p>\n

My wife, of course, had hysterics and wouldn’t allow it in the house, still in shock after a bat flew into the lounge around 15 years ago. It was yet another “Argyll Event”, where we experience surprising animal encounters on a fairly regular basis. This one was unusual, insofar I managed to take a reasonable photograph, including its amazing 5 fingered feet.<\/p>\n

Obviously, this all has rather a lot to do with Medpal AI Plc for reasons which utterly escape, other than to include a snapshot of a bat in a share price analysis. But with MedPal already operating a weight-management clinic through its New Health business, folk are getting a little excited at their link up with Eli Lilly and the expected sale of a daily weight loss pill, liable to be more popular than the current self administered injection regimes. In fact, while gossiping with some other folk walking their dogs, the subject of the weight loss pill actually came up. Though folk were probably bored with my Bat Bat story, desperate to change the subject.<\/p>\n

It was easy to develop a kneejerk dislike for MedPal AI Plc<\/b> as we’re never happy when a company shoehorns whatever “hype” is driving the market into their company name. Hence, our immediate distrust due to the inclusion of “AI”. It’s an APP, it’s driven by software, and will communicate with other software on the company servers. The AI is unlikely to do anything other than produce intelligent sounding responses to users of the App, using far superior grammar than our own. In addition, we were not impressed with their FAQ when we tried to figure out how much this was liable to cost. The website is clearly out of date and no-one has bothered update the ‘all important’ cost, generally the very first thing prospective users will be interested in.<\/p>\n

However, the ladies on the dog walk were talking about the new weight loss pill, liable to become popular amongst older folk cursed with arthritis or back pain. Apparently, loss of weight is a major benefit to those so affected, so perhaps MedPal are on the edge of something important and enthusiasm for their share price shall be justified. But personally, remaining suspicious at the “Look At Me” inclusion of AI in the company name, along with an outdated website, some pause for thought is advised.<\/p>\n

The immediate situation certainly has some interesting potentials. Movement next above 4.65p calculates with the ambition of a visit to an initial 6.25p with our longer term secondary (or later that day – we don’t reliably do timeframes) at a future 9p, perhaps beyond. The share price has certainly broken through the immediate downtrend but it is worth paying attention to the chart Closing Price inset as the breakout lacks commitment.<\/p>\n

Of course, we need provide an alternate scenario, what to expect if the share price discovers an excuse to slink below 3.5p? We currently can calculate an initial 3p as viable with our secondary, if broken, down at an eventual 2.1p.<\/p>\n
