#FTSE #DOW We’ve had a couple of enquiries, asking our opinion of Helios share price. A constituent of the FTSE 250, the company are active in the Middle East and Africa, throwing up telecommunication towers all over the place. According to Wikipedia, they own and maintain over 10,500 towers, keeping the cellular market alive across the continent. If only we had something similar here in Argyll, an area of Scotland where cellular reception is kindly described as “spotty”. For instance, we now receive a reliable signal in our house, a vast improvement over the situation where we’d to go to the top of the garden to get a signal. But 3Mobile turned things on their head, if we continue up the cliff and into the forest, the cellular signal matches the coverage map from 3Mobile. Somehow or other, the mobile signal only covers about 100 metres inland from the shore line, then becomes unreliable. The crazy thing, we can actually see the tower from the hill behind the house but the cellular company has chosen to point their antenna fairly low down.<\/p>\n
Perhaps they have to pay a “rent” to provide better coverage?<\/p>\n
It certainly can be an irritation, if having a gossip with a friend while out with the dog, as there are numerous stretches where a conversation will suddenly go dead. Thankfully, it’s easy to warn the other person in advance, thus halting the amusing game of manners, trying to call each other back at the same time, getting connected and then cut off again. In virtually all areas of life, Argyll can be quite a bit behind the rest of the world. Though we have moved from Black & White TV to colour TV and also boast Hot & Cold running water! And about 10 years ago, the main road into the Cowal Peninsula was upgraded from an exciting single track to twin lanes,\u00a0 making the drive less challenging. It’s also worth mentioning any dream of there being a motorway anywhere in Argyll would be an empty hope. Despite Argyll hosting part of the A82, the busiest road in the West, very little is judged to deserve dual carriageway upgrades.<\/p>\n
Obviously, it doesn’t take much to trigger a rant about Argyll. At first glance, Helios Towers Plc seemed incapable of igniting a response, then we remembered Argyll’s little foible with cellular communications…<\/p>\n
However, Helios are operating in an area of the world where Heat, Terrain, Wildlife, the People, are unlikely to be a problem, so doubtless they avoid all the usual difficulties Argyll faces.<\/p>\n
As the chart below shows, the Green line represents the previous “All Time High” closing price at 205p. In May of this year, the market clearly thought the 205p risked becoming an issue, opting to manipulate (Gap) the share price over this little Red Circled obstacle. When we say Closing Prices are a big signal, this was one of these occasions where we’ve little choice but to judge the signal as seriously important for the longer term.<\/p>\n
Our suspicion now is next time Helios share price closes a session above 205p, a journey to an initial 234p should commence with our longer term secondary, if exceeded, working out at a future impressive 293p. This is obviously a fairly significant change in the share price valuation, making us suspect the company perhaps have some good news tucked up their sleeves, awaiting release. Regardless, keeping an eye on Helios would certainly make some sense in the days ahead.<\/p>\n
If trouble is planned,\u00a0 their share price needs close<\/b> below 190p to potentially spoil the aforementioned targets and instead, kick off a cycle downhill to an initial 166p with our secondary, if broken, at 139p. At present, there’s nothing suggesting this should become an issue, though our software demands we mention it.<\/p>\n
