#Stoxx #Germany We’ve become quite firmly against the concept of wind-power, especially onshore. Suspecting it’s only a great idea for companies who are subsidy junkies, here in Argyll there’s always quite lively resistance every time a new “will be great for the community” planning application crawls from under a rock. Oddly, the current weather, along with the vile winter of 2010, reminds of why wind turbines are a waste of money.\u00a0 When we REALLY need electricity in times of cold, such as 2010, or in times of air conditioners such as right now, the wind isn’t blowing. The winter of 2010\/11 was spectacular, sub-zero for around 12 weeks due to something called a “Blocking High”. There was no wind and our private hydro electric system couldn’t run, due to the brook being frozen. It was a nasty reminder of how “green” initiatives didn’t work, when most needed. Thankfully, we’ve a forest above the garden, loads of trees and plenty of fuel for our wood burning stove.<\/p>\n
Currently, with super weather conditions, the brook in the garden is dry and when we look across the sea to wind turbines polluting Ayrshire, they’re all taking a break due to the lack of wind.<\/p>\n
In conclusion, for Argyll, green energy repeatedly doesn’t work, when power is needed. At present, there’s a local battle against an initiative to bring 500′ tall wind turbines to the area, the thinking presumably being a bigger turbine will cope with our miserable weather, when it isn’t freezing or boiling. 500 foot tall wind turbines will obviously foul up Argyll’s scenery, even soaring above the hills which almost successfully conceal our nearest town of Dunoon, a place trapped in time, where nothing actually happens. An ongoing joke is the local cinema still plays “Gone With The Wind” on repeat. (though, to be fair, the place is quite nice inside and their goodies prices as shameless as any mainland cinema)<\/p>\n
Our conscience clear after admitting our bias against wind farm charlatans, selling products which don’t work when needed, we must concede Greencoat share price is on the edge of becoming interesting. we’ve been able to calculate 108p as a potential trigger level for creating fun days ahead. Perhaps there’s an expectation the newest UK Prime Minister shall introduce a new set of headline grabbing initiatives, allowing movement above 108 to trigger gains to an initial 118 with our secondary, if beaten, at a future 131p. These sort of movements shall doubtless prove quite attractive, giving the threat of a Big Picture 161p providing a distant attraction.<\/p>\n
Should things intend go ‘IBM Shaped’ (glance at their share price), below 99p should cause extreme eyebrow action, giving the potential for weakness to an initial 96p with our secondary, if broken, at 90p and perhaps a bottom. Or perhaps not, the Big Picture suggesting bottom should be just above 76p.<\/p>\n
This could prove worth watching.<\/p>\n
