Gannet (NYSE:GCI #DAX #DOW) <\/b>Our fascination with the print media is probably a bit unhealthy. But given the demise of “Good Old Yellow Pages” at the alter of the internet, #Gannet who own vast numbers of print titles worldwide, appear worth a glance.<\/p>\n

Or perhaps, glance away now…<\/p>\n

After all, Johnston Press, publishers of the often perceived anti-Scottish newspaper (The Scotsman) continue to bottom feed the depths of share price misery, despite tales of a buyer. Gannet however are not quite at this level of distress, though there’s a fair argument suggesting some further weakness lies ahead.<\/p>\n

The immediate situation does not sound terribly threatening with movement below 9.70 threatening a trip back to the archives of 8.82. At this point, price movements become decidedly risky as the share will be seen to break the immediate uptrend. Worse, we calculate the next drop target should 8.82 break as being 5.92. Visually, we would hope for a bounce at the 5.92 level. The suggestion, should such a point break, allows for the price to half yet again!<\/p>\n

However, the share doesn’t actually need do much to escape this doom. At present, they are trading around the 10.24 mark and need only exceed 11.10 to better the immediate downtrend, launching into a region with an initial hope of 11.96. And better still, we’re calculating 14.20 as possible if such a point exceeded.<\/p>\n

For now though, we rather suspect it intends to eventually sniff around the 5.92 point and hopefully perform some sort of bounce.<\/p>\n
