FTSE THIS WEEK (FTSE:UKX) <\/b><\/span> Our suspicion of a market which has wandered into full blown holiday mode was confirmed when the FTSE achieved our trigger 7705 on Friday, then reversed faster than a politician faced with a yes\/no question.<\/span><\/p>\n

There remains a strong argument favouring reversal on the marketplace to the 7360 level and just because it hasn’t happened yet does not mean we can rule it out. Regular readers, along with anyone expecting us to be punctual for a meeting, will know our grasp of time is a bit tenuous. The situation remains of weakness now below 7560 being very capable of 7360 next with secondary, if broken, down around the 7150 mark. If demanding early warning, our eyebrows shall elevate should the FTSE make it below 7591 points in the coming week.<\/span><\/p>\n

On the basis we’re being unnecessarily cautious, the market now requires better 7720 points to give a suspicion a drop isn’t around the corner as such strength propels the FTSE into a region where 7800 is allegedly available. If bettered, top calculates at 7867 points.<\/span><\/p>\n

Otherwise, we can now refine the thickness of our “straight line” as being from 7560 up to 7720 points. Which, if trips dips and bounces, makes for a pretty profitable straight line. Experience teaches this sort of thing usually ends in tears but when viewing 2017, the state of affairs continued until September! We’ve used identical circle sizes over the same periods in 2017 and 2018…<\/span><\/p>\n
