Trends and Targets for 15/06/2018

Created 14/06/2018 at 22:46

FTSE FOR FRIDAY (FTSE:UKX) It would be rather understating the issue when we mention some fairly strong grievances exist about movement on the FTSE on the 14th, during the first two hours. Basically, the market moved 8 points below a trigger level, then stuffed the drop logic.

Of course, this behaviour could simply related to the continuing underlying trend on the FTSE – we even mentioned 10,000 points as a longer term attraction at the start of the week. When strong upward numbers are available, we should know by now short positions will usually underperform. In reality though, our objection was the behaviour of a market, essentially flatlining below a trigger level and almost appearing to be luring short positions prior to a proper drop.

The impressive upward reversal closed the session in tempting territory, creating the situation where movements now above 7795 points should generate some further growth to an initial 7845 points. And if bettered, secondary calculates at a less likely 7935 points. If triggered, the tightest sane stop position looks like 7729 points.

What happens if 7729 points break?

It seems reversal to 7715 should be expected with secondary, if broken, down at 7688 points. If triggered, stop looks like 7755 points.

Have a good weekend.

SUCCESS above means both FAST & SLOW targets were met. ‘CESS means just the FAST target met and probably the next time it is exceeded, movement to the SLOW target shall commence.

Our commentary is in two sections. Immediately below are today’s updated comments. If our commentary remains valid, the share can be found in the bottom section which has a RED heading. Hopefully, this will mean you no longer need to flip back through previous reports. HYPERLINKS DISABLED IN THIS VERSION

Please remember, all prices are mid-price (halfway between the Buy and Sell). When we refer to a price CLOSING above a specific level, we are viewing the point where we can regard a trend as changing. Otherwise, we are simply speculating on near term trading targets. Our website is www.trendsandtargets.com.

UPDATE. We often give an initial and a secondary price. If the initial is exceeded, we still expect it to fall back but the next time the initial is bettered, the price should continue to the secondary. The converse it true with price drops.
